OK, then you have all the options in the world to make that part.
Rough and finish turn just past the flats, do not undercut, use that stock for rigidity during milling.
Mill one flat leaving stock, add to pattern to do the other side.

Finish flats
Finish bore using 2D contour and wear compensation
Chamfer both sides using 2D contour and chamfer option
Rough and finish turn past flats, take light roughing cuts due to interrupted cut.
