The thread definition that is put in place by the modeling environment has little impact on the threadmilling operation in the CAM environment.

There is little need to define a modeled thread. Just model a shaft for OD, or a hole for ID. Select that and apply "Pitch Diameter Offset"

As an aside, modeling a thread does take a fair amount of computer resources. Unless you actually need it for assembly and simulation, I'd suggest going with a cosmetic thread (for display purposes) or just keep it simple shaft/thread
