I must be doing something wrong from the start to have these issues. When I ran the 3d parallel simulation on this part I noticed a scallop on each end that cut into the model. I tried every machining boundary option in geometry and still had the same scallop. Upon magnification and inspection I noticed every other tool path had a swoop at the end that cut into the model area. I turned off the "smoothing" option in "passes" and the swoop disappeared. I ran the simulation and the scallop disappeared. Is that normal for the smoothing option to ignore the model? My smoothing allowance is set to .0004". The scallop is nearly .125" deep into the model. Is there some artifact from the construction process that is causing this? I really don't know that much about CAD/CAM and this kind of thing is really frustrating me. The problem is in the 3D parallel finish pass. Any suggestions?
