Surface finishing

Can anyone help me out here?
I'm getting not the surface finishes i want with 3d-machining.
I used 3d-morph for this particular Operation. Parallel doesnt work that great either.
I'm pretty sure this is a code issue not a mechanical one although it is a pretty old hurco bmc30 with ultimax 3 Controller.

Hello Arne

Could you attach you model, then we can look into what's happening?

Hi Björn,

here is the model file. And the NC-Code, I didn't know how to export the setup. But if u send me a pm with your mail I could invite you to this project.

Regards

Arne

Hello Arne

Is it possible for you to share the file with some of the operations where you didn't get the surface finish you expected?

I would like to see the generated toolpaths for those operations.

Thanks,

I'm trying to figure out how to export the cam file

Hi Arne

There are some irregularities in the parallel toolpaths that might explain your surface finish, that stems from the triangulation of the surface. It can be improved by lowering the tolerance.

Or this is something you have already tried?

I already tried to lower the tolerance but I bumped it back up again, since I thought having too many toolpath points (in the simulation) would cause the bad surface finish.

That is aswell the reason I put the smoothing that high.

Might this even be a postprocessor problem?

Aren't arcs only allowed in XY Plane by default? Maybe allowing them in any plane might work...
