This one might seem a little weird, but you'll want to select what you don't want to cut and then define your stock areas:
Also a note: if you right-click on the toolpath and open the Compare & Edit dialogue, look for the option "Order by Area" and set it to Yes. This will keep the tool in the same area and avoid jumping around as much. The above toolpath screenshot is set this way. I would also suggest tightening the tolerance to at least .001" instead of the default. My default is set to .0005".
I haven't touched any other operations except for 2D Adaptive5.
