I saw in one of the YouTube CAM training videos that you can copy CAM setting to other geometry on a part. But I don't remember how to do it and I don't want to watch all the CAM videos all over again. I have some text I'm engaving. I setup a 2D pocket for one group of text. Now I want to create another 2D pocket operation for another group of text. I'd like to just select the new geometry, then copy the 2D pocket setting from my first group of text to the new group. I've got four 2D pocket operations defined, the one named "Alarm Off" has the settings I want to use. How do I copy my settings to the other 2D pockets?
Here's my model:

Also, how do I get rid of the warning: "Lifting feed plane to topmost ramp."
BTW - My design isn't very complex, but Fusion seems to be struggling with it. Some operations run really slow.

Scott,
to copy an op to the same or different setup, right click the op and hit copy; then right click the SETUP where you want the op and hit paste. Then just edit the geometry selection for the new op. Hope that is what you were looking for.
That warning about heights pops up alot when I'm working in CAM, usually with no real effect on how well the tool path performs. I think the usual culprit is the safe distance setting near the top of the linking tab. Otherwise something is most likely amiss on the Heights tab.

Scott,
Forgot in original reply; the other item to check is the Ramp height in the ramp dialog.

I can right click on my 2D Pocket operation and select copy. But when I right click on the target 2D pocket operation, there is no paste option.

You don't past the settings from one op to another, what you have to do is past to a setup.
Something else you might find useful is compare and edit. You shift select several operations then right click on one of the ops.

Thanks, that helps. I got rid of the "Lifting feed plane to topmost ramp" warning by making the safe distance small (0.0001"). but I still get this warning:
Warning: Rest tool has not removed any material.
What does this one mean?

Haven't seen the rest machining warning....only things that come to mind immediately are 1) is the tool specified in the rest machining op of a smaller diameter? and 2) is there actually any material left from the previous op? Apologies if you've already considered these possibilites.

Thanks, Scott and Fred. One another option you can use for copy existing operations is Store As Template commond when you right click on some operations.
Using this command, you can save all the settings in the selected operations except for geometry input as template and then you can use Create From Template command (when right click on a Setup or Folder) to create new operations with the same parameter settings, even in another design.
If you enable the cloud library function in Fusion (please see picture below), the template will be stored to A360 drive by default. Otherwise, the template will be stored in local disk.
For the error message about rest tool, I suppose you are using the Rest Machining option in 2D Pocket operation. The reason for it should be that the first 2D Pocket operation has removed all the materials and the rest machining operation with the tool you used for it don't remove anything more. If there is really some material left from the first 2D Pocket operation, please try to use a smaller tool in the rest machining 2D Pocket operation.
Hope these are helpful and any more questions please just let us know. Thanks for being a Fusion user!

fredsi,
I got rid of the rest warning by turning Rest machining off in the Geometry tab.

This option to save CAM settings does not exist on my version of Fusion 360.
Has it been moved or changed to a different function? I want to save and re-use all of my work to a variation on this part, but how?
