Lathe / Grooving and parting help needed

Hello...  :slightly_smiling_face:

Looks like I need some help with this turning project.  Seems simple enough but...  I can't seem to get the correct depth on the grooving cycles and with parting I would like to cut the chamfer on the back side of the part before parting off.  I am pretty sure I did this before but can not find the part I did it to for reference.

Any help would be great.

I fixed up the groove.  You needed to select the bottom edge of the groove instead of the top edge.  Also make sure you have the tip alignment set properly.  I changed it to "Tip" instead of "cut thru"

As for the chamfer with part off tool .  I believe the chamfer operation is designed to work where there is no chamfer modeled.  Since your part has the chamfer modeled this operation will not work properly to my knowledge.   I know that part off with chamfer tool is in the idea station.

I was able to modify the model and add a sharp corner to the back side to make the chamfer toolpath.  Is there a way to reverse the path?  I can only get it to go up or in positive XZ cutting motion.  I would like it to go from the OD down in the -XZ direction, if that makes sence.

Thanks again for your input.

Just wondering if anyone has thought about this or know of a way to reverse the chamfering pass with a parting tool?  I would like it to go the other way from X+ to X- direction.  I can only get it to go from X- to X+ direction.

Thanks

At this point I don't see any possible way to do it.  Hopefully the fix of allowing it to be done in the part off operation is not too far off, but realistically it is probably going to be a little while before it is address.

Any idea if there is any change to this yet?
I'm having the exact issue you mentioned with the X direction only being positive, not negative.
