Issues Since Nov 2024 Update
I'm hoping someone here can be of more help than Fusion's customer support. Here's my current issue:
I'm running a 3D Adaptive toolpath, and even though I have my max roughing stepdown set to 0.01", the first clearing pass occurs at -0.03". Yes, I square my stock before indicating. Yes, my WCS has the Z0 on the top of the stock. Yes, the machine's readout shows this first pass at -0.03". Yes, the GCode also shows this pass at -0.03". All subsequent passes properly observe the specified stepdown parameters.
I'll ask you to give me the benefit of the doubt that I'm correctly setting up my parts, both in Fusion and on the machine. Case and point, prior to the most recent update, I have programmed and run thousands of parts using 3D Adaptive (and pretty much all other) tool paths with no issues. Why this op is ignoring and overriding the specified maximum stepdown is beyond me. Possibly somewhere in the dialogue box for the operation, but I can't think of anything, much less anything that supersedes maximum stepdown... Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It would be most helpful if you could share your Fusion file here, would you be able to do that?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

Apparently, there's no ability to understand the
question as well. It requires zero code or files to contemplate the issue
🤦🏻. And since it's happening in every document since the latest update,
there's even less reason to share one. As a matter of fact, I just got off
the phone with Autodesk support and the gentleman I spoke with was able to
confirm that this is happening on his computer as well. Perhaps you can run
an adaptive path on any of your documents to see if this is occurring for
you as well.

I tend to disagree with that sentiment, as a LOT of what happens in the MFG environment is entirely subject to the settings that the user decides to go with. What you are seeing is not always what someone else sees. If you do want assistance on this forum (and we do certainly want to help), could you share a sample file that shows what you're seeing? Of course, if you just want to moan about the product and support, you're also welcome to do that ![]()
As an example; if I was to have an "Ignore Stock Less Than", I would expect different results in some areas, or if I had my default values (which you can change and capture) for Min Stepdown, that would also give me different results in other areas. It all comes down to "what are all the values in one toolpath", which we cannot know without seeing detailed screenshots or a simple file that captures that data
