How do you create a body that can be combined and cut at the same time?
I'm not quite sure how to explain this - I want to create a body that has some elements that will be subtracted when it's joined with another object, and some elements that will be combined. Probably better explained in a video:

Your best bet is to head over to the Design subforum. This is the CAM subforum, better for troubleshooting production of your part once it's modeled.
