Update deleted all of my settings

after doing an update all of my settings are back to default f**cking great.... im pissed. i hope there is a way to get them back.... most likely not.  does anyone at autodesk test these updates before theyre rolled out? now everyone has to spend unnecessary time putting all their settings back to where they were?  does autodesk care that we are all trying to run companies?

In particular what "settings" are you talking about. Values that you would right click and select "set as default"? or others?

all my "preferences" as far as my preferred usability and view settings have been reset to default. my entire layout settings like my grid and "sync views" . my toolbars are all set to factory defualt. every single toolpath that i had set all my "save as user defaults" settings have been reset.  and im sure im missing more.... its basically like i just installed fusion 360 for the first time. probably doesn't seem like a big deal to some people. but I had everything set in such a way over the last year that it was so smoothly streamlined i could almost work blindfolded. its going to take me a while to rebuild it back to where it was.... really annoying autodesk let this happen

This happened to me at the last update. It's extremely annoying, like you I'd customised every toolpath default. I had made periodic backups of my defaults which got me half way back to where I was.

I recognise this isn't the solution and Autodesk should not allow this to happen but I would definitely recommend saving a back up of your defaults in future. It's something I don't think we should have to do but I was burnt in the July update and it seems it happens to someone on these forums every update.

I'm sure soon enough they'll start putting the user preferences behind an "extension" or make you use cloud tokens to access them everyday.

That's rubbish, not going to happen.

The "reset of defaults" is a bug, and it's a random one at that. It's not something that effects every user, and thus, very hard to track down the source of the issue
