What strategy use for this design

Hi,

 

Until now I have only done quit flat design, bu I need to stepup. I'm in the process to find what best toolpath to us for this test design.

 

The end material is epoxy resin.

 

Maybe somebody could give me some advices.

I have never cut this material, so I can't provide much advice on that front. However, I strongly advise not to be using a Flat endmill for the surfacing, you are never going to get an acceptable finish, since the tool is only capable of machining flat areas. Anything with a "dish" to it (concave or convex) will end up with scalloped steps in it. Ball Mill is what you're looking for.

It's what I reckonned, but whet combinaison of operations/toopath would be the most effective ?

I don't think you will ever get anything machined to exactly replicate that design, even if you have a 5 axis machine. In between the petals, you will have some sort of fillet between the petals, whether you use a ball or flat end mill. If you redesigned it with fillets between the petals with the max fillet radius you can live with, without losing the detail that you want, that would represent what you will get as an end result, but realize, the smaller the fillet, the longer it will take, because that will limit your ball end mill choice.

 

I tried manipulating the solid model to add fillets but my CAD skills in Fusion are not up to the job.
