Hello,
I would like to design a checking fixture for an industrial wire. It should serve as a manual (go/nogo) verification of a proper wire bending. I think that creating a mold an dividing it into two separate parts could do it. However, I can't figure out how to split the wire exactly in the middle (together with the surrounding mold body) as the wire is obviously not flat. I mean in order to have two corresponding mold parts. Or is there any other way how to do it?
Please, see the attached *.F3D file.
I would really appreciate your help.
Regads,
Josef T.

Hi @jtyrpak, Would something like this work? You are correct that the irregular shape make this a challenge. Is this single wire shape what you need or will you need to create many check fixtures for more complex parts? If so this may not be the best way to go about it.

Thank you Joshua... Yes, this will definitely work for this particular one wire. However, we have five of them any maybe more are coming. Could you, please post a method how to do it? Josef

Thank you Joshua once again. The "Plane through three Points" is what I was looking for.
I will get back to you in case this method will not work for the remaining wires. Br, Josef
