Small Corners V Cut

I am really new to F360/CNC so any help please keep it simple for me.

I am doing a small 1/8" deep cut that I plan on filling with epoxy, in the image I am using a 1/8" end mill to attempt to get into the corners and as you can see its not getting there. I do have a V bit, what kind of tool path do you recommend to both clear out the material as well as to get into those corners, it does not need to be the full 1"8" deep, it can slope up in the tighter corners.

In the above image I am currently using 2D Adaptive action with my 1/8" end mill, any guidance would definitely be appreciated if you feel there is a better way. :slightly_smiling_face:

Here's the drawing file and my progress, there are a few tool paths I'm experimenting with.

You would have to use a very small cutter to get in as far as possible using the "Rest Machining" option so it would only be clearing out most of what the 1/8 tool didn`t get to.

The toolpath that would rise up in the corners automatically is the Engrave toolpath, so you could try using a very small angled V cutter of say 5 Degrees and use the edge of the shape for your contour, you will then have a very shallow angle which will of course not be seen if you are filling the shape with Epoxy or similar just means that your shape will be a little larger. If you have a sketch of your shape you can use the "Offset" facility to move the edge of the shape in a fraction to get it to the same size as the original. :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

However, without you uploading a file the above may not work at all depending on exactly what is needed !!

OK, apologies, you uploaded a file while I was typing, not hard, I type slooowww :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

OK, a quick attempt at something using a small 1/16 tool to "Rest Machine" some more material out and an Engrave tool to finish, I used a 60 degree included and it may do what you want, experiment with different size/angle V tools to get the best result, what is already in the file may be enough depth for you to fill :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you so much for the assistance. I did not know about the "Rest". I always thought it was to allow tool changes lol

I have updated the model using actual bits that I have. (1/4 end mill, 1/8 end mill, 1/8" vbit).

The only remaining question I have is there doesn't seem to be a "Rest" for Engrave or an I missing something?

I have reuploaded my project and as you can see the Engrave operation runs the whole thing rather than just the "Rest".

Thank you ahead of time for all the assistance. :slightly_smiling_face:
