Haas TL-1 Lathe Tool Change Details in Post

Hi all, I have a Haas TL-1 lathe, which has a conventional tool post, so manual tool changes.

I will quite often run a roughing tool path followed by the finishing tool path both using the same tool.  When first run the part I will usually leave some stock to leave on the finishing pass so I can measure and adjust to get the final dimension accurate.

But when I run the finishing pass again, I have to also run the roughing pass cutting air, as when the code is posted, the tool details aren't included in the finishing pass.  Hope this makes sense!

Yes I can cut and paste the tool info in the code manually, but this is a pain and have to reorder the line numbering.

Screen grabs of code below.

So my question is, is there an easier way to do this?

Many thanks.

Hmmm, only thing I can think of that is simple to do would be to assign a different Offset for the same tool under your "Post Processor" tab in each different Operation, that way Fusion will see them as different tools and output the code accordingly, I don`t know how many offsets you have in the control but it is a simple, easy workaround that doesn`t involve editing your PP.

I have attached a small Lathe Program with three operations and the code as generated here using the latest version of the HAAS Turning PP, Face, Rough and Finish all with the same tool but different offsets so you would just use the appropriate offset for fine tuning your sizes, seems to be OK here but it may not be what you are looking for !

Great, many thanks, that looks like a workaround.
