Help with Machining Stratergy ...

Just wondering if someone might be able to help with some idea on how to machine these things ...

We have a HAAS VF-3SS with a HRT310 4th Axis Table.

I have been trying for days now with not much success.

I have tried the steep and shallow tool paths and had some success, but is it possible to machine with 4th Axis Simultaneous Machining ??? Especially the rear channels ... I figure you might be able to rotate the part and just use a normal end mill and rotate the table instead...

Same with the machining angle to clean the part as best as possible.

Any help or videos we might be able to watch, that would be muchly appreciated.

It is on a table and not just a rotatory axis.

Thanks in advance...

@JiXXeR750

Is your stock fixed to a table that is at 90 degrees to the 4th axis, so it can rotate say 90 degrees forward and back around the X axis then the suggestion below might work.

Without the Fusion file it is very difficult to describe a strategy never mind test some, for basics you can rough out using the 3D Adaptive Toolpath for the majority of the material removal, then, if there are some small areas that would leave any thick areas you can "Rest Machine" those out using a smaller tool.

To do the 3D curved shape finish probably the "Blend" toolpath should do that.

For the grooves at the end they are easy, simple 2D Contours or 2D Pocket and use the "Wrapped" Option.

If you upload the Fusion file by going to :-

File > Export > Select f3d format > Save the file to a location on your computer > Then using the "Attachments" facility at the bottom of your reply upload the file.

You will get much better and more responses by providing a file to work with, if it is a propriety design then there are Autodesk employees who will do it for you as NDA job.

How does one go about getting said help ???
Can they help with Machine Builder SetUps also ???
We are new to machining, but we are learning quickly. Happy for any advice or help.
Thanks again for your reply, gives us some hope...

Hmmm, as previously posted you will maybe get better/more help if you upload the Fusion file.

Regarding where to get the help then I have to say that looking at your previous requests for help that you have had a considerable amount of help so far.

IMHO  With respect but I think it is time to work with people who have tried to help or pay more for telephone support or go to a different software, no one ever seems to get anywhere with you, no feedback on how suggestions have worked/or not for you etc, etc.

I certainly don`t count my self as one but you have had some real "heavyweights" working stuff out for you already.

Sorry for inability to get this right my good man.
I just realised yesterday that there were messages and replies to previous requests.
I intend to get to them today.
My messages were sent from my phone away from work computers hence the inability to send the files you asked for.
Not being ignorant to people helping man, just super me to this forum format and how things need to happen.
Can only ask for help ... Of we knew what questions to ask, we would start there.
Thanks heaps for your advice this far.

I have done what you asked and tried to export the file but it won't accept it ...

It won't accept the RAR file either ...
I can only do it as a 3fz file ...

I will see if I can edit the original post maybe ...

Hey man, sorry to disturb you again, but could you please let us know if there is way I can post the files ...
I have them here, but this window to reply has no way I can add those files, Screencasts Items yes, but actual Fusion Files no...

The forums are being slightly incompetent as of late. You need to use the Quick Reply feature that's at the bottom of the thread
