need help creating a "path" from sketch
Hi to all,
i'm new in this forum and new in using Fusion 360 (I come from the world of editorial graphics and I'm not used to 3d modeling software) i would like to replicate the surface decoration that you can see in this video at the min. 13:18, using my X-Carve CNC (that i want to learn to use more than simple 2d carving)
이게 가구야? 작품이야? 외국에서만 보던 원목가구가 한국에도! 아머드 거실장/TV장 armored tv cabinet 아트퍼니처 - YouTube 3
so i tried to create a kind of "path" that i want my spherical bit will follow, my problem (aside the fact that right now i was just trying to create a path so didn't care about right proportions between the distance of the rows, the depth of cut and the diameter of the spherical bit, that i still don't have but i'm looking for), is the i was able to sketch the path but i'm not sure that a simple sketch is something that a CNC software can interpretate, and i'm not able to transform it in a object, or something more solid that can be use a s a path. Not sure if a was able to explain myself clearly. I attached a screenshot of the file i was working.
Thanks in advance for replies

I think you will probably want to use the Trace toolpath for this type of work. That will allow you to get the centre of the tool to follow your sketch line.

Good luck. I think Trace is probably the best option for what you are trying to do. You can also 3D model it in a similar fashion using the sweep function. Essentially cutting a circle through your part that follows the path you have created in your screenshot (like the tool would).
