Attach CID 215 (flange) as a connector

Hi all,

I've posted this in another forum and am hoping someone can help.

I'm trying to use CID 215 (from the Z-master folder) as a connector but the only parts available in the connector drop-down menu are flanges from services that don't use this flange. This flange has attributes that allow the user full control of O/D, PCD, I/D, Hole diameter, amount of holes and thickness. I have seen this flange in the Z-master folder but it can't be applied with the attacher function, is there a way to get it from that folder into the connector drop-down menu?

TIA.

Are you burning your own rings as Flanges?

a) I would do a Report on Ends and Sizes and than Burn Rings that way.

b) Type makepat then type 79 and I would use Calc Fields for Inner and Outer Holes.

I don't believe you can do today's job with yesterday's methods and be in business tomorrow.

Hello cadbob, Thanks for your reply. We use "Camduct" to develop our flanges (CID 215) for nesting, this pattern allows full control of all dimensions and has all options including bolt holes. If I use a flange from another service for the model it will be of no use when I send the file to Camduct for nesting and it wont help with the BOM neither. The Z-master items folder in Cadmep has this particular flange but it cannot be fixed to a model using the Attacher function. Is there a way you know of to add the pattern (CID 215) to an existing service so I can use it as a connector? I'm confused as to why Autodesk hasn't done this already as it's a common practice connector method in HVAC Dust Extraction. Regards.
