Fabrication in AutoCAD MEP?

I am exploring Fabrication for the first time and wanted to know if you must install it over AutoCAD or can it be installed on top of AutoCAD MEP? There are specific deliverable features that I require such as Project Navigator, and it's corresponding annotation features that make MEP a necessary platform for our workflow.

I have not found much documentation on Fabrication, so if anyone has installed it on top of MEP i'd like to hear if there were any specific issues you had to deal with.

Thanks

You can install it on top of either one (provided they are the same version i.e. AutoCad 2016 or AutoCad 2016 MEP).  I have mine installed on top of MEP and have used it that way for years.

Thanks!

Do you use Project Navigator?

If so do yo uuse the sectioning tools? I'd like to know if the fabrication pipe shows up in MEP's sectioning tools as it generally only shows MEP content.

No they will not. As you stated the section tools for MEP work on MEP content only.

What are your deliverable workflows if you dont mine me asking?

MEP has an extensive array of features to deliver sheets, with sections, details, numbering said sectiona dna sheets that are labeled - are there any featues in fabrication that allow you to use similar features?
