Changing Elevation with Design Line in Feet rather than Inches

Is there a way to change the elevation from inches to feet while using design line?  The tags are showing inches as well and this is obviously unacceptable.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

FYI, I fixed the elevation tag for Level Text but not how the elevation is entered on the Fabrication Pallet.

Click the button under the attacher arrow that looks like a book. It is the "EDIT MAIN DATABASE" button. click on the "FITTINGS" tab and then choose "PATTERN SWITCHES" on the left toolbar. Scroll down to "ENTER IMPERIAL DIMS IN (FT)" and check the box. Click "APPLY" and then "OK". Let me know if this helps!

Thank you lauer_casey.  I tried that but I still cannot enter, for example, 4' for the elevation.  It will not let me enter any special characters such as the ' to indicate feet so it will take it to 4 inches.

I am also having the same problem. I've been scouring the web for a couple days. I've changed UNITS to architectural, DIMSTYLE to architectural, gone into the database --> fittings --> pattern switches and clicked on "Enter imperial dims in ft" as this thread recommended, and  no luck!!!

This is our first week using CADmep, and being a Revit user, my AutoCAD skills are more than rusty. You can imagine the frustration.

I'm using CADmep 2014, with all three service packs installed.

Hmm just kidding. It appears that I am now able to input feet and inches into the design line elevation. My Autocad had crashed, so it may have just needed to be closed and reopened.

Thanks!

Yes, I experienced the same thing and once I booted up this morning, everything was working the way that it should.

For some reason I have found once you make the change you have apply and close, re-start fabrication.  In some cases even go back in the database to verify and I have had to apply a second time for it to take.
