Profile Error: Unable to Lock the file

Ok, everyone, now I did it! I really broke it really good this time. My old PC died, and on my new PC I can reach all my Profile folders except one, and it's this one (see attached image). Before you ask, there are no "LOK" files in my database folder.

Do I need to need to remap this somehow?

Am I missing something?

Any advice would be appreciated, before I push this up the Autodesk and support.....

Chris,

If you are unable to access the given profile. I would not recommend trying to remap your profile individually, while it can be done. The recommended workflow would be to remove the profile via the "profile setup dialog" and recreate it. Remapping profiles has a tendency to corrupt the profiles.map file within the Fabrication database - profiles folder. I opt to backup the profiles.map file each time I create a new profile because of this tendency. If you need to remap the profile I would backup the profiles.map file first.

If I remove the profile and then recreate a new one with the same name, will it still link to an existing Revit Project with which I already had the old profile associated? Or will this be a GUID issue?

Chris,

Yes if you recreate the profile (named exactly as it was when initially loaded). The Revit project will still recognize it. Also if you have drawn any parts in your Revit model with services in the profile you will need to match the service names as they were set initially.

Ok, sweet, I will give it a try, and let you know the results
