Hi.
Im totally new to MEP Fabrications but I wanna try start using them, the problem is my company have rules on how to name all the items in the model.
So my guestion is can i change the type name in Revit 2023?
I tried to follow a tutorial:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fabrication-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcar...
But when i open the Product info editor it cant find any files called "prodinfo" to open (step number 4).
I tried calling the Autodesk support team in my country but they say they dont use Fabrication so they dont know, please anyone help.
Is it even possible, am i waisting my time on something you cant do?

As far as I know, this can't be done. Fabrication content doesn't behave the same way as Revit Families.

You can change the name with the information you have already found.
I also think Revit has changed at some point and the fab part names are derived from the ITM name in the fabrication database now. I can't find reference to it but I'm pretty sure I saw that in the release notes somewhere.
You need to open / load Fabrication CADMEP into Autocad and edit the parts from there.
You will be able to see services and parts.
Draw something and type FOLDERS.
It will open a panel showing parts. Right click and rename one.
You would then need to get the newly named part into the service.
Not hard but quite a few steps.
Here is a piece of it:

if you look at the original post, he is looking to change the TYPE name of a Fabrication part in Revit. You can change "family" name of a Fabrication part but you can't change the "type" name.
