Heidi module crashing

I have been running AutoCAD MEP 2022 since its release, and I also use Fabrication MEP 2022 for my ductwork. My aging machine had a GeForce TITAN Black video card, and I never had an issue. Last month I was able to get my hands on a Quadro RTX 4000 build for a reasonable price, so I jumped on it. Well, it has not been great. I frequently use pointcloud files - generated from ReCap, and also Navisworks. My entire workflow is Autodesk, I am not mixing brands of software. I keep my Quadro Driver on the Autodesk certified driver version (as of writing 452.57). But, no matter what I do, my Heidi module crashes, I lose Hardware Acceleration, and I ask myself, why the hell did I even upgrade? Once the Heidi module goes, its about 50/50 if my CAD file will crash as well. I thought the Quadro certification process would make this rock solid, instead its been all nightmares. I've tried testing with and without pointclouds on, different visual styles displayed, different Fabrication databases... always the same thing. Any advice would be appreciated. And for the record, the computer had a fresh install of Windows when I started last month, then all of the updates were installed, the Autodesk products were all fresh installed and updated, graphics driver is dialed in... Revit, ReCap, and Navisworks give me no problems (they run great), only AutoCAD.

Over 3 months and still crickets... this is frustrating.

I tried something different. Since we're upgrading a whole department piece by piece, I went for a completely different build. Equipment: ASUS Prime Z690-P, i9-12900KF, 64GB DDR5-5200, Samsung 980 Pro M.2, Nvidia RTX 3090. Software: Win11x64 Pro, AutoCAD MEP 2022, Fabrication MEP 2022, Navisworks 2022, ReCap 2022. In AutoCAD I am constantly getting the error message "Error Loading Heidi Module - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2022\Drv\\acaddm16.hdi".

First off, I wanna call attention to the double \\ before the final name for the file. Is this a simple coding typo that has been crashing my work for the past 4+ months?

Secondly, is this a "first adopter" issue where the hardware I'm pushing is just too new to the scene? I'm not overclocking anything, because honestly, I have no want or need to with these specs. Every single other program I run is AMAZING on these setups. 300 page PDFs open in a second, 20 tabs open in Chrome and it doesn't blink, Navisworks with 30 dwgs and runs smooth, ReCap processes 50 scans in 2 hours... while I'm working.

The only complaint I have is my heart and soul, AutoCAD MEP with Fab MEP for ductwork. When it kills the hardware acceleration, its almost impossible to get anything done. So, I have to close out completely, reset the GeForce Experience to "Optimized", reload CAD, then work for another 30 minutes before... OOPS, hardware acceleration crashed again. Someone, anyone, I'm begging for help here. I will also note the first build I tried this on was an AMD-Quadro setup and it did the EXACT SAME THING! So, don't try to tell me that its just the graphics card being incompatible. This is a true CAD or FabMEP issue.

Attached is a pic of the Heidi error and my Tuner Logs from before and after the acceleration crashes.

same issue with the Quadro RTX 4000. ith as gotten a bit more stable in the latest driver.  had a support case open for it and was not much help.

We are also having the same issues with the Heidi module crashing. Running 2022 Fabrication (Duct) and RTXA5000 graphics cards. If I close down and open up again it stays good for about 30 minutes or so. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated!

The fix that I was given was to force AutoCAD to use DirectX11. This has stabilized AutoCAD and made everything usable again. I hope this isn't the long-term fix, but it has been enough to stop the Heidi crashes. Use Dx11 (not Dx9), article linked here: How to use a previous DirectX version in AutoCAD Products
