Pipework Material updated?

Hi there

We have noticed that in our model we are working on, the Carbon Steel material has been simplified for some reason and not giving true sizes just actual sizes.

We have tried the method shown here to get it to sort out

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fabrication-cadmep-forum/pipework-materials-change-on-there-own/m-p/6...

but that didnt work

We have also tried a few suggestions from Autodesk but they also dont seem to work. see below

  • Group method:
    1. Save all Fabrication items to a group within the file.
    2. Save the group out of the file, somewhere convenient
    3. Delete the Fabrication items and group from the file
    4. Reload the database
    5. Attach the group that was saved out as a Revit link
    6. Bind the link, then un-group the items.
    7. This will need to be done each time the database needs reloading
  • Link method:
    1. Create a new Revit file
    2. Load the existing database within the new Revit file
    3. Link the previous Revit file into the new Revit file.
    4. Work with the new file to place updated items instead, or bind the Revit link and use 'insert views form file' to re-create the file.

Another method suggested would be to upgrade to Revit 2021 and update the database as well to this. Unfortunately this is not possible as there are many other parties involved which at this time don't have the ability to upgrade.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as we need to make sure the pipes are correct for coordination and installation.

Many thanks

Mark
