lOCK-UP

Like I'm in Jail; When tyring to rotate a fitting, stretch a pipe, measure, etc. the cursor has like a magnet and grabs to anything it passes over and locks up for sometimes several minutes. Very frustrating and time wasted. It doesn't seem near as bad with snap turned off, but you lose the ability to select objects to work within the drawing. This problem seems to get worse with each newer version of autocad and CADmep. I just installed 2020 and does the same

May be the problem of graphics, you may check followings -

Go to Options >> System >> Graphics Performance >> Off the Hardware Acceleration options.

Save File and restart CADmep 2020. Now open your file and check if it's solves your problem.

I tried that, no luck. When I turned on object snap, it still locks up when trying o rotate an object like a Victaulic coupling or a fitting.

Version 2020 is recent high end release from Autodesk. Have you checked the Graphic Driver requirement compatible to 2020? The driver for the graphics card may be outdated.

Updating your current video driver to the latest driver available can correct problems with your graphics. It’s best to uninstall the current driver first.

Am using an AMD FirePro W4100 with the latest update 19.Q2 The computer did the same thing when using 2019. That’s why I upgraded to 2020 to see if this version had been fixed

If possible you can share me your file, so that I can check if this problem is exist in my system as well or not. If exist then it will be confirmed that this is file related issue. Or, if not, it can be some system set-up issue from your end.

So, please send so that I can check it.

I think we were going in the wrong direction. After conferring with a support tech named Mariah, we tried a couple of things, she opened mt drawing and had no problem with it. Something inside my computer(Windows) was corrupted. I tried the hidden administrator, created another User account, and that solved the freezing up from happening. What a load off my shoulders!
