Fabrication CAD MEP 2018 object enabler for Revit

Hi,

I have received a dwg file from a mech consultant who has used CAD MEP 2018. I have installed the object enabler into Autocad and can now see the ducts that have been modelled. When I try to link the cad file into Revit the duct objects cannot be seen. How do i configure Revit 2017 to display the modelled ducts from the autocad file.

Kind Regards,

Matt

Going around the forum and replying to numerous posts / questions with "Thank You" is not helpful to anyone.

This is not a support workflow. Revit 2018 can accept Fabrication content natively, however you could Explode the content in CAD then link it in, or import the Fabrication item directly into Revit using .maj.

A few options....

1) Have the client change the "save w/Graphics" setting in their fabrication configuration and save the drawing again and get it back to you. You can download the CADmep trail and do the same yourself. This will make the DWG file 3x in size so is not ideal for performance.

2) Have the client send you an IFC (or again, downlaod a CADmep train and do it yourself). Again, huge file and not ideal.

3) Have the client use the CREATEREVITMAJ command and save an MAJ file to send you (or again, downlaod CADmep and do it yourself). You can then import the MAJ into Revit if you've downloaded and installed the Revit Extesion for Fabrication (which is not available yet for Revit 2019)
