You don't need to create a VPL when using Fabrication CAMduct 2016 or later. The 2016 version introduced a custom machine configuration feature which may be configured to work with any machine.

 

Per the What's New section of the Help System:

 

The following new features are specific to Fabrication CAMduct 2016
Custom (User Defined) Machine Configurations: You can create custom (user-defined) machine code (NC) for defining installed machine fabrication (motion path and cutting) behavior. See Installing a Custom NC Machine.

 

You will find a recorded session on this topic from Autodesk University 2015. 

 

As for exporting the nested shapes or sheets, why? You use Fabrication CAMduct to write NC and send to the machines.
