I am not sure if I am doing it right but I wanted to pick your brains before I proceed to CNC cutting. I modeled a cylinder with radius 36 inches. And a body panel of the same radius as base and top. Is this okay when it comes to welding parts together? Or should I make my circular base and top slightly smaller to factor in the thickness of the material? (I am using 10 gauge steel). Please advise.

I would make it slightly smaller to put fillet weld around it the difference i would make would be 2/3 of thickness.

Thank you so much for this explanation. If you do have a sample image, would you please attach just so I can visually see what you mean? Once again thank you.
