Are you trying to find the external files where the styles information is stored?

If so, the default ones that are installed with Inventor aren't in a sub-folder of Design Data, they are directly in that folder.  They are .xml files (exe. balloon.xml).

If you are wanting to make changes or customize some styles, it is best practice to create new custom styles instead of modifying existing ones.

Just remember to click on Save at the top of the screen after the changes.

Then, if you want those changed or custom styles to be available in other documents, you need to right click on the style on the left, then click Save to Style Library.

Then, when in another file:

  1. Open the Style and Standard Editor
  2. Click on the drop-down in the upper right corner and choose "All Styles". (You may sometimes have to toggle this back and forth a couple of times to get the list on the left to update.)
  3. When you see the styles you want show up in the list on the left, right click on them, and click "Save in Document", to have them available in that document.

If the styles you want are already in that document, you can do either of the following two things to make sure they are updated to match your latest changes.

  1. On the Manage Tab / Styles and Standards group, click on "Update", then choose yes for those styles on the list, then click OK.
  2. Open the Style and Standard Editor, right click on the style you want to update, then click "Update Style".

If this helps any, please 'Accept as solution' or Like.
