Solar analysis data export

Once you select the façade or object is there any way to export the data from Formit, or does it need to progress to GBS to do this granular analysis?  Currently it only seems like the way to use the solar tool is to take a screen shot with the cursor over a specific area to get the data point.

It would be useful to be able to get exports for various ranges or data points, facades, etc. so that the info could numerical and less graphic based.

Also, there is no ability to rotate the model and save different images of the various facades when in the solar analysis tool.  It requires you to start another new analysis from the perspective you want.

Hi jahne,

Unfortunately there is no built-in way to export these values, which are calculated in realtime inside the app.

Solar Analysis is exposed to our Javascript API, and there is a "GetValueFromFaceAtPoint" command that you might be able to use to output the values to the FormIt scripting console.

Here is the link to that API if anyone in your office is willing to experiment with some JS scripting: https://formit3d.github.io/FormItExamplePlugins/docs/FormItJSAPI/group__mod__jsapi__formit__analysis...

You can enable the scripting windows by checking the Script Editor and Script Output in the Window menu in FormIt for desktop.

As for navigating the model and saving images while Solar Analysis mode is active, the model should orbit and zoom like normal even during analysis, and you can use the Export function in the Menu to export images of the Solar Analysis. Can you verify that if you put your cursor in the canvas, you cannot orbit or zoom with your mouse? If you're willing to share the model, we can take a look at it too if you still can't get this working.

The screenshot shows some really large UI in FormIt - can you confirm your DPI scaling in Windows? And did you move the FormIt window from a high-DPI screen to a lower-DPI screen? Mentioning it on the off chance the UI scaling is interfering with navigating the model during Solar Analysis.
