Sketchup Converter installer

I've run into a roadblock, has anyone else expereience this yet? When you go to install the add-in you accept the agreement, but you can't move forward the box is blank, the country is blank and you can't proceed. See screen shot. Any tricks to overcoming this? I am logged into 360 with my account in both Revit and FormIT web app. I've closed both, nothing different happens.

Thanks!

Hi Melissa - Thanks for trying the converter out! I think the issue is that all files and folders from the converter download need to be unzipped to install it.

  • Download the converter
  • Open the Zip file
  • Select all files and folders (eula folder, Windows folder, and FormIt360Converter.msi)
  • Either copy / paste all files into a new folder, or drag and drop all files onto your desktop
  • Double click the .msi file to install

My guess is you didn't unzip all the files?

Or you put them in different folders?

Basically the installer is looking for the text files in the eula folder to fill in the blank dialog that you're seeing.

Hope this helps!

Tobias

Alejandro,

I am sorry you are having trouble installing the FormIt Converter. Try to right-click on FormItConverter.msi and choose Run as Administrator to install as an admin.

Ditto Tom's comment - sorry you're having trouble! If your issue is not about installing the plug-in - but more about converting SKP to FormIt - then can you send me your SKP file and I can test out? We usually find great bugs this way! I will direct message you with a link where you can upload your file if you wish.

Thanks for helping improve FormIt!

OK interesting - the only time I've seen this problem is if you don't unzip ALL the files and folders from the download... You need to put all of the downloaded files in the same folder and THEN start the .msi installer. It sounds like you're already doing this though.

One thought just occurred to me - if you're in a different geography than one of the languages we provide in the eula folder... then I wonder if you won't get any text at all!?

Are any of the languages in the attached image your native language?

I am sorry you are having trouble installing the converter. I would suggest that try to start from the beginning:

  1. re-download from http://formit360.autodesk.com/blog/formit-converter/
  2. unzip the files to its own folder
  3. right click on the MSI file and choose "Run as Administrator"
