FormIt 2021 is now available!

Hi FormIt community,

We're proud to announce FormIt 2021 is now available on all platforms. 

This is a huge release that addresses many requests made here on the forums (we'll update those threads soon):

• SelectFromFormIt node: select geometry from FormIt for use in Dynamo graphs
• Other Dynamo improvements, including multiple instance support, always-connected sessions, and graph swapping
• New tools powered by Dynamo: 3D Text, Array Along Path, and Railing Along Path
• Orthographic camera
• Built-in sample materials (FormIt for Windows only)
• BIM 360 Docs Content Library support (FormIt for Web and Windows only, at this time).
• ... plus much more.

We hope you enjoy the new features. We're also working to polish some of the rough edges in this release, so expect some smaller quality updates in the near future.

Looking even further ahead, we have big plans for FormIt in a wide variety of areas, so stay tuned!

The new web-app does seem to suffer some very annoying glitches:

• It simply "refuses" to let me log in and unlock the pro features (where I have no problem with the new windows application)
• I do not know which year the date picker for the sun system is in, but it is most certainly not this year. (the 9th of April, as I am writing this, is a Thursday, not a Monday)

I hope you'll be able fix this soon.

BTW I am very happy with the Windows application.

We're investigating the issue with FormIt Web login. We'd like to get on a screen share with you to see how the problem is manifesting, and to look at any errors and some network requests to/from FormIt. I'll reach out to you privately to arrange. 

The data we're using to simulate sun shading throughout the year is not year-specific. The position of the sun in the sky on any given date doesn't change significantly from year to year, so choosing the year in FormIt wouldn't have a noticeable effect. In FormIt for Windows, the year is exposed, but you might have noticed it defaults to the year 2000. This has no material impact on the results of the shading.

Please do not remove it from the Windows app. Just make the year visible in the date picker in calendar view.

Thanks for helping us track down the issue with your login issues. We've created a post that describes the couple temporary workarounds we tested for this issue.
