Form it to Google Earth Pro... how?

Hi all,

I'm working on a urban massing project and wanted to take advantage of the viewshead tool in Google Earth Pro. I have a FormIt model and would like to convert it into a KMZ file. I've not been able to find a successful way to do so yet.

Please advise,

Thanks!

Hi! This is a good question. I was going to recommend going through Revit first - but it appears that we no longer support the old Globe Link add-in that was used for KML/KMZ export. My best suggestion at this point is to export to DXF (assuming you are using the Windows version of FormIt) and then using this web-based converter: https://mygeodata.cloud/converter/dxf-to-kml  It looks like they allow 5mb for free. If you are not using the Windows version, you could try exporting to SAT and then using AutoCAD or 3DS Max to convert - but I have not looked into how plausible that is.

I am curious, since Google is no longer supporting Google Earth, I wonder if there are other ways to accomplish your goals. Sounds like a job for Dynamo!
