Hi.

Is there a way to clean up models before exporting to obj file and 3d print.

A way to make all objects solid so they export nice?

I try to import simple revit houses and export to obj or stl. Nothing works.

Any ideas?

Hi Daniel,

Absolutely, FormIt has some great tools to clean up models for 3D printing and other apps like Revit that require solid geometry.

Check out this link and scroll down to the "Ensure Solid Geometry" section. It discusses using FormIt's built-in diagnostic tools, like Display Watertight Issues and Display Backfaces, which will help you understand where your model may need work to get it fully solid/watertight. That page also includes tips for using FormIt's Advanced Geometry tools like Cover to fill in faces that are missing from a solid to quickly get geometry into a watertight state.

Let us know if you need anything else.
