Hi team,
As I read in another topic, Forma team is aware that the Revit Addin overrides whatever Coordinate System you already have in the Revit file and also suggested that to avoid this, the proposal could be loaded in a separate file, then linked and binded. Here are some of the issues I found when using the plugin and a potential solution.
Problems found:
Importing from Forma wrongly overrides Survey Point and moves is lower than 0 elevation from Internal Origin, so levels will be all wrong from Survey Point. Big red flag
- Because of that, the Toposolid and any Geometry created in Forma will also be wrong if you already have something in your file.
If you had a Coordinates System setup from an actual Survey file it overrides it and change overall Northing and Easting and Elevation, big red flag
It does not create a new Location>Site, it just overrides the current, so with linked by Shared Coordinates files this can be even more catastrophic if done after all files are setup.
Forma site will always be loaded in the wrong elevation to what you have in file, and will create one extra unnecessary level, the 'Terrain Minimum Level'.
- Potential solutions:
- In Revit, in the Load Proposal Options, have tick box to NOT override the Coordinates in file and/or
- When importing create a new Location>Site called 'Forma Proposal' or something like that, so teams can have the option to revert to the previous Coordinates they had in file.
Happy to discuss further this, as many are keen to see this workflow working
regards,
Inacio
