Hello Forma Community,

We're excited to share the latest enhancements and upcoming features for Forma. While there were lots of vacations and times away from our desks over July, but the team has still been rolling out numerous updates over the past month. Here’s a glimpse of what’s new and what you can look forward to:

  • Resizable primitives in 3D Sketch
  • Integration of 3D Sketch directly into the design canvas

Analysis

Instead of adding more functionalities, Revit to Forma, can you fix Forma to Revit please?

Room Usages align with Forma

Thanks

I'm still longing for the tool that assessed views from buildings to defined areas. A one of a kind and superb tool for evaluating real estate pprofit potential (better views, better profit). Pretty please with sugar on top, bring this back.

Also: fix the trees. Those barrel -shaped abominations look so cheap... Back in the good olden days the trees in Spacemaker used to look like good enough approximation of trees. Not like a forrest of oil drums.

Last but not least: we (at SARA) do not mix Forma usage with other programs/apps (such as Revit, Rhino or whatever), and while I do understand the need to serve as large a customer base as possible, from our perspective this is not effort well spent. Forma itself could be a very powerful site evaluation and preliminary design iteration tool. I wish it does not evolve into a hub of this and that, and eventually stumble on the strain of api upkeep.

Hi @juri.pelkonen,
We have a few extensions that address your concerns.
Thicket allows you to control color, height, width, and shape of a tree’s canopy and trunk. You can also place trees of varying heights, widths, and shapes in a single tree area or line. In addition, they also have support for placing individual trees with a point-and-click.
We are also working on a View towards Point of Interest extension. I will talk the team to see if you can be involved in testing.
