Autodesk invites you to showcase your design skills in our next generation industry cloud tool for AECO professionals. Use our tools for data gathering, sketching and analysis to deliver a compelling best in class proposal and share your design with your peers and our judges for your chance to win honor, glory and an Amazon gift card.

Dates:

1. Contest & submission start date: May 25th 2023 12:00am Pacific Time

Requirements:

1. Create the project in the US Forma demo project, which is available as a demo project for commercial and trial users.
2. The requirements are 7.1m ft2 minimum and 14m ft2 maximum GFA. The program must be approximately 20% commercial, 40% offices and 40% residential. 
3. The contest is open only to natural personas who are at least 18 years old, and are not citizens or residents of any country subject to a U.S trade embargo as well as: as of September 2022 North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Iran or Venezuela, as well as residents of Brazil, Argentina, Romania, Poland and Italy.
4. Commercial, educational and trial users are eligible.

Judging Criteria:

1. Architectural Design - Develop an exciting architectural proposal that enriches the urban fabric around the plot. 
2. Living Qualities - Show how you have used the analyses to optimize your proposal. E.g. Tell how insight helped shape the result and final concept. Find a balance between good sun exposure and shadow areas, optimize daylight access using the Vertical Sky Component and use Operational energy to shape your buildings. Make sure to avoid wind tunnels and create a great outdoor microclimate. 
3. Storytelling - Explain your design decisions in a data-driven way. The voiceover should demonstrate how Forma was used as a decision support tool. Consider your buildings, the outdoor areas they define and the impact on neighboring buildings, and tell your design story in an easy to understand and compelling way. Note that you are allowed to use and show a workflow that includes 3rd party tools.

5. Judges: 3 Judges, Autodesk Sales Development Specialist, Autodesk Product Manager, Autodesk Customer Success Manager; where one will be presiding judge
6. Tie Breaker: In the event of a tie, the Presiding Judge’s score shall determine the winner (s). If a tie remains at that point, the entry that received the highest score in the Criteria of Storytelling shall determine the winner (s). 
7. All of the Judges will review all entries and award an aggregate score to each entry based on the scale 1-10 for each criteria. The 3 entries with the highest aggregate scores after adding the scores for all Judges shall be deemed the winners with the entry with the highest score winning the top prize, the entry with the second highest score winning the next prize level down and so on until all prizes have been awarded

Submission Details:

1. The competition proposals must be delivered as a screen recording video with voice-over in English.
2. The video must be longer than 2 min and shorter than 3 min.
3. The only video editing actions allowed are cut and speed up video. No other effects are accepted (e.g. transitions, subtitles, etc).
4. The emphasis should be on telling a compelling data-driven story through your design and voiceover.

Winners and Prizes:

All winners will be awarded one Amazon Gift Card issued by Tango Card Inc., valid in an Amazon store located in one of the following countries: Japan, Ireland, the United States, Australia, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, and Mexico.

1. 1st prize: Amazon Gift Card worth three thousand U.S. Dollars or equivalent in local currency on the day of the issue.
2. 2nd prize: Amazon Gift Card worth two thousand U.S. Dollars or equivalent in local currency on the day of the issue
3. 3rd prize: Amazon Gift Card worth one thousand U.S. Dollars or equivalent in the local currency on the day of the issue.
