How did they come up with the vocabulary of flexsim like source, sink , queue,etc?

Some of them are inherited from the math differential operators. Others are lent on the typical activity they do.

To add to what Jörg Vogel, many of these terms have been used as industry standards within the simulation industry. Any terms unique to FlexSim, are named based on the description of what the object is doing in the logic of the software.
