[ FlexSim 19.2.4 ]

Hi @Brandon Peterson,

I hope you doing well.

The FlexSim version is 19.2.4 .

I had fixed in the script table an SQL code and doesn't work correctly. I want to have the same distances as like the dwg file Flexsim(racks distance).dwg that i had attached and the racks to look like as the next file fsm test1.fsm test1.fsm. You have any ideas?

Thanks in advance. Have a nice day!

Hi,

When you want to move racks using code you need to also take into consideration the rakcs size.

You can find your model with example script attached that

Hi, Dawid Dabal

thanks for your quickly reply.

Generally, i want to appear the central racks per 2 (central racks: 507 to 518) especialy, i want to seem the racks 507 and 508 abstain 1.5 meters between them, with aisle 1.8 meters between from the following racks and so on 509-510, 511-512, 513-514, 515-516, 517-518.

Thank you very much!

You could spilt those rack in two group, "left" racks (507, 509, 511) and "right" racks (508, 510, 512). the distances between racks in those groups will be the same (aisle width + rack width). You can manually move the first rack in each group, and then move the rest using code.

I've created a new script and even/odd groups for racks.

Nice, but how can i delete the racks from the working mode by autocad beucase i don't want to see the dwg file in my flexsim model;

Also, the distances in racks 501 to 506 and 519 to 524 isn't appear like the file dwg, i think is little further.

Thank you in advance!!

You can switch off background in Tools=>Model Background

You can change the location_shift value in a script to find the correct value for your rack placement.

You can write your own code for the racks 501-506 and 519-524. It will be similar to the one I wrote, but you will need to move racks along Y axis instead of X axis.

Thank you very much!

I understand, but i don't have an experiance about the code, for this reason i would like to please you if you can write the code too with the same measurments as the dwg file.

Hi @Fwteini K,

It looks like this question may be part of a homework assignment or academic project. The professors who assign simulation modeling exercises using FlexSim expect that the academic integrity of their assignments will be maintained. In addition, we are supportive of Honor Codes or Pledges that regulate the behavior surrounding academic assignments.

I recommend reading our best practices page on the subject, which includes some resources that you should find helpful as you use FlexSim for academic purposes. I also highly recommend Dr. Allen Greenwood’s FlexSim Primer, which was written specifically for students and professors.

If you're being assessed on your ability to write this script you cannot expect anyone here to write it for you. But there are many tools to help you like the debugger, FlexSim manual and tutorials so you can understand what is happening in any code/script.

If you feel you don't have enough information or are lacking course instruction then ask your course organiser to provide you with clear guidelines on what resources you can use along with more supporting information to make this a reasonable task for you.

It came up my mind that you can apply this task of moving racks by flow items on a bidirectional conveyor. If it doesn’t work properly with current conveyor module, then try it with the basic legacy conveyor. You have to activate the legacy objects in the environment settings in FlexSim to use them.

Or a more basic approach consists of adapting the stacking abilities of queues. You move your racks into flowitems. At each end of your rack system you place a queue. Then you move the flowitems from one queue the other one. The items are placed by stacking method as horizontal or just vertical depending on the rotation of your queues.
