Split resource group into sub groups

I would like to be able to break a group of 24 gurneys into 6 smaller groups of 4 gurneys but still refer to all of that as the same group "Gurneys". Like a Master Group of Gurneys from which I can pick. Is that possible or do I have to create 6 groups?

If I have to create 6 groups, how can I refer to "Any of the 6 groups of gurneys"?

This is where you would use Alternate Groups. You would have your Gurneys group with all 24 gurneys, and then you add 6 Alternate Groups where each one has 4 of the gurneys as its members. Then you can request "Any member from Gurneys" to get any gurney or "Any Member from "AlternateGroup2" to get a gurney from a specific sub group.

You could also, potentially, do this in reverse. Have 6 gurney groups in the model and one Alternate group that contains everyone else.
