Robot load and unload as per requirement

Dear Team,

With reference to my previous query,

Please note that the robot is responsible for picking and placing boxes onto the pallets. However, when a Type 3 blue box is placed on a pallet, the pallet behind it must remain empty.

This is because the pallets move in pairs (two pallets per station). Therefore, the arrangement should be as follows:

  • Brown boxes: one on each pallet
  • Blue boxes: one on a pallet, and the paired pallet left empty

Could you please help me with the logic for handling the Type 3 blue box condition?

You can manage both movements with the same token. If the first item has type 3, just skip the second load/unload.

You also need to adjust the process time field of the downstream stations. They first need to check whether the pallet has an item on it before trying to read a table value.

Thanks @FelixMoehlmann

How to add series of types to type 3 at conditional decide?

 example - to add type 4,5 and 6 with same logic (skip the second pallet)

Reverse the condition in the Decide. Instead of checking if the type is equal to three, check if the type is different from 1 (the default type).

@FelixMoehlmann

I am trying to add list of types through global table which has same logic but it's unable to work as per requirement.

Can you please help me with this?

Please find the attached model for reference

What exactly is that table supposed to do? Currently it just contains some type numbers. In my mind a parameter table would typically contain all types that can appear in the model and have additional columns that denotes certain behaviours based on the type.

Hello @FelixMoehlmann

Thank you for your response.

I am facing an issue with the FlexSim model where changing the type names results in an error. Please note the following details:

  • The type names currently include a combination of alphabets and numbers.
  • When these names are modified, the model throws an error.
  • I have attached the model file for your reference.

Could you kindly review and advise on the best approach to resolve this issue?

Looking forward to your guidance.

In the model I attached the assumption is that type value and row number/row header match. If that is not the case, you need to identify the correct row first before reading values from it.

@FelixMoehlmann

I am implementing the row header match logic in the FlexSim model, but I am still facing an issue. Please find the details below:

  • Row header match functionality has been implemented in the model.
  • However, I am unable to identify the exact error causing the issue.
  • This logic needs to be applied across a large and complex model.
  • There are multiple entries with type names that include combinations of alphabets and numbers.
  • The model file is attached for your reference.

Could you kindly review and advise on the best approach to resolve this issue?

Looking forward to your guidance.

There is no model attached to your latest post, so I don't know what issues you are referring to. When I copy the types to the row headers in the model you attached previously it runs without problems. (Rows 7/8 are duplicates of 1/2 and will never be used. Those could be removed).
