network license in computer lab - licensed for multiple users

We have a computer lab with FlexSim that checks out licenses through an on campus license server.

I would like to setup the computers to look for the license on our server, no matter who logs on. Currently I have to use the license activation window and enter the license server address each individual Microsoft Windows user or profile.

Is there a way to license the PC itself, so that any user who logs in will be able to open a licensed instance of FlexSim? Without reentering the license server information for each user?

In section 8. Activate client PCs there are two subsections, one of which is for multi-user PCs which will handle this situation.

Attached is a license file (flexsim_server.lic). Edit this file by changing "this_host" on line 1 to the IP address or name of the license server.

Then put a copy of this file on the client PCs, in FlexSim's program directory:

C:\Program Files\FlexSim16\program

Of course replace FlexSim16 with whatever version of FlexSim is in your Program Files directory.

This should tell the FlexSim installation, on a per-computer basis rather than per-user, where to look to get a license.

If you are using ports other than the defaults, you can specify your custom ports by following the example in the flexsim_server.custom_ports.lic file. Please see Flexnet's License Administration Guide, page 28 for more information about license file usage and syntax.
