Multiple people looking at a running model from different screens ?

A potential Flexsim client is asking me the following.

Would it be possible to have multiple people looking at a running model from different computer screens?

They would all be looking at the same running model at the same time. No interactions, just looking.

And could they each have a different view?

One sees workstation A, another workstation B, etc.

They would all be in the same factory.

If possible would that be done through webserver? or?

Yes the FlexSim Webserver can give you this functionality.

All you have to do is:

1. Set up the FlexSim Webserver on a server machine.
2. Make sure the model has more than one 3D view.
3. Access the FlexSim Webserver web portal from another machine and start a new instance of your model.
4. Connect to the created instance from each machine (again from the web portal).
5. One of the connected machines will have to click to run the model. The 3D views will all show up for each connected machine and can all be interacted with. Communicate and choose who will control which view.

Thanks. A few more important questions. I really need to know if this can work well.

If, for example, there are 15 workstations throughout the plant that want to look at the model from a different view. Lets call those the 15 viewers.

And the planner is in his office running the thing.

Then each of the 15+1 workstations:

- need Flexsim installed?

- need a licence? or the demo version would do for the 15 viewers ?

- need to start Flexsim from their workstation?

- need to open the right view for their workstation?

And then the planner can start the simulation.

Or can more be done from the planner's office and less from the viewers?

Also would that slow down the simulation?

In your opinion would this work well? Or is it just not made for that?

Only one FlexSim installation is needed. The installation is on the machine which is running the WebServer.

The 15 workstations would connect to the instance through their web browsers.

Having 15 different 3D views would slow down the model and UI responsiveness a lot. I don't think it would work very well at all. This is because the 3D views are streaming video to all the clients, so there would be 15 video streams.
