Model Control GUI with the webserver ?

[ FlexSim 19.1.0 ]

Hi,

I am examining the possibilities of the webserver.

I have not found any way of displaying a custom GUI that I created in my model with the webserver. I would like to change some data in the model or export data thanks to this custom GUI.

If it is not possible to display a custom GUI with the webserver, is it possible to export data or change some data with the webserver ?

Best regards,

A custom GUI made through the toolbox can't be displayed or controlled by the webserver at this time.

You can make a GUI using Dashboard widgets (except for the GUI Class widget).

Sebastian,

you can as well change the HTML default page the webserver shows after connecting to include the GUI elements you need the user to use. This is mentioned in the webserver documentation in the User Manual.

Hi @Jacob Gillespie,

Do you know if it is planned for a future (coming?) new release of the webserver ?

What are the plans with the future of the Webserver ?

@Sebastian

No we don't really have any plans to have the GUI Class widget in the webserver at this time.

Right now what we have been working on for the FlexSim Web Server 20.1.0:

  • The webserver can be associated with the version selector so that it will launch the appropriate version of FlexSim
  • Add an optional way of streaming the 3D view so that it is rendering with WebGL

If you want to have a custom GUI beyond just using the dashboard widgets then you will have to override the default page and add the GUI to the html and implement the functionality through custom query handlers.

Hi Jacob,

In the earlier post you mentioned a way to include GUI :

"If you want to have a custom GUI beyond just using the dashboard widgets then you will have to override the default page and add the GUI to the html and implement the functionality through custom query handlers. "

Can you help me understand how it can be done. It would be great if you could share some documents/videos related to it.

Thanks in advance
