[ FlexSim 25.0.1 ]

I want to make a simulation of a machine : The machine should start working when it has an input of 5 cans ( the source with interarrival time =4 min) , the machine give an output product each 15 min, when it reaches 4 output product , it releases the 5 input cans (empty) ; so we can say that we have 5 cans consumed in 60 min then they need to replace it , and output cans every 15 min

This could be done by open/closing the input/output of a processor once a queue reaches a content of 5 items. A label on the processor controls how many items it can process before the queue is emptied and needs to be replenished.

processor_auxiliary_input.fsm

You could also use the Material Consumption and Replenishment Process Flow template. It offers a framework to implement logic like this.

Hi @safa,

It looks like this question may be part of a homework assignment or academic project. The professors who assign simulation modeling exercises using FlexSim expect that the academic integrity of their assignments will be maintained. In addition, we are supportive of Honor Codes or Pledges that regulate the behavior surrounding academic assignments.

I recommend reading our best practices page on the subject, which includes some resources that you should find helpful as you use FlexSim for academic purposes. I also highly recommend Dr. Allen Greenwood's FlexSim Primer, which was written specifically for students and professors.
