[ FlexSim 22.2.3 ]

Hello everybody:

I wanted to ask if it is feasible to modify in FlexSim (maybe the GIS module) the weight of a load transported in trucks so that this has a physical influence in terms of speed, fuel consumption, pollutant emissions... either in a native way calculated by FlexSim or parameterised in some other way by me.

Thanks in advance.

@Jorge Diaz , just do it. Typically you add some of this in a calculated table for a statistic collector. Or you correlate label values with maximum speed parameter while model runs. I know there are other software tools, which try to implement cost, energy consumption or other financial factors into a model by default options. But my personal opinion is, do this on your own and you get a better adjusted result than from any predefined setting.

I understand, Joerg. Thank you for your help. I'll do as you recommend me: I'll look for a mathematical correlation between all the data then.

Hey @Jorge Diaz, you could try using an AGV System to simulate these physical influences.

You can create different Load Types that cause your AGVs to move at different speeds, consume varying amounts of energy, etc. Then, based on a label like "weight" set on your AGV, you can apply a different Load Type so it moves accordingly.
