Large size 3D data

I want to change 3D Shapes to my own 3D-CAD data.

However, due to the large size of the 3D-CAD data I have, FlexSim runs very slowly.

Is there a way to reduce the size of 3D data inside FlexSim?

Or

Is there a good way to reduce the size of 3D-CAD data?

If you close all 3D windows is your model still slow? Because that is weird and should not happen. If you mean that moving through the model is slow then there are a few things you can do:

1. Close all 3D windows. That way your model should be fast again.

2. Switch off layers. Layers that are switched off don't have to be drawn and help a lot in speeding up

Outside FlexSim you can also do a few things:

1. Decrease the size of the 3D cad drawing by removing everything that is not visible on the outside. For instance if you have forklift, underneath the exterior there is a motor and axels etc. These can all be removed without interering with the way it looks.

2. Often on good drawing you have layers with information about welds of holes etc. These layers can be removed.

3. You can use software like Polytrans to reduce your polygon count.
