How to slide view vertically?

When I press left button, and then slide view, but it is zoom out or in, not slide down or up.

The default is for left and right click together and drag to zoom the view. Left click alone translates the viewpoint location (the focus point on the floor).

If you want the view height to change then switch to first person and then L+R click and drag.

Sometimes the view window can respond incorrectly, in which case I'd reopen the default workspace.
