How to configure items in combiner

[ FlexSim 21.2.4 ]

I have a question, thank you to those who dedicate a little of their time to help me. I have two custom items that go into my combiner, but when my items are merged they are mangled and floating. Is there any way to fix them or change the appearance of these two objects together?

Choose a container flowitem as the first item to enter - it will then use a packing method to place the second item inside it.

You can create a new container flowitem with the shape you want in the flowitem bin.

By default, the two predefined container flowitems are the pallet and tote.

hello @Jason Lightfoot

so i did what you had written, but still parts were floating what i want to do is put one inside the other. I'll put a picture here for you to understand better.

My combiner is customized too, what I'm trying to do is put this white part inside the gray part. Is it possible to do that ?

Hello @kauan pedroso,

It's hard to help you without having access to your model with theses flow items. How did you create the container flow item?

I have attached your example model that shows the box being a container item. I created it by duplicating the tote flow item. I then changed the visual of the duplicated tote to be a box.

Hello @Jeanette F

I managed to solve a part, but when you put the second box the file is crooked. I will send you the file for you to understand better. Thanks in advance.

I created a new packing method 'capa' which sets the locations for each part - the values I got from manual placement.

You can fine tune the position manually and update the values in the capa packing method.

Note that I used the rank of the item to determine the location - you could also use a global table lookup or map of locations based on partnumbers.
