Healthcare staff requirement after primary staff is off schedule?

[ FlexSim 16.1.0 ]

After 5pm, I am having my one MA be off in the shift schedule. However, how can I designate her tasks in the patient tracks to an alternative resource (member of techs) once she is done for the day? I tried using the "based on simulation time" option in the staff requirement in the patient tracks, but I don't understand how to designate that new staff member in the table.

This behavior should be automatic.

If you choose a single staff member the staff requirement should be populate as:

Staff1 of StaffGroup1

Where the of GroupX part is showing the group that will receive requests if the staff member is unavailable.

If you choose the staff group, the requests will be given to anyone available in the group.

Thanks. The issue is that the staff member that should take over this task is in a completely different resource group.

In that case you'll want to make an alternate group. You can add alternate groups in the toolbox. Then add the members that make up the alternate group.

You should then be able to select the same staff member, but from the alternate group.

Yes, I have been trying alternate groups. I just need one specific member from that alternate group to do the task until she is off. But the alternate group option is just having whichever staff member that is available at that moment do the task. It's after 5pm that the task would be given to the other member.

It sounds like you're choosing the Any Member from AlternateGroup1 option and not the RN_1 of AlternateGroup1 option. Is that correct?

Well if I select "Any Member from AltGroup1..." won't it just select whichever member is available? Until 5pm in the staff schedule, I'd like it to default to only one of the two members. After 5pm, I could just say "Any member" because the other member will be the only one available.

You should select the specific staff member you want, but make sure it is using the alternate group as the group to send requests to when unavailable - so choose the option that looks like this:

RN_1 of AlternateGroup1

RN_1 will be the only one doing anything until she goes off schedule at 5 PM, then her requests will be sent up to the alternate group.
