Does FlexSim support the new Oculus Go?

Will the new Oculus Go work in FlexSim? It seems as an affordable and easy to use VR headset.

Hi @Axel Kohonen,

At this time FlexSim only supports the Windows platform. Where Oculus Go is a standalone device, it does not run Windows applications. Rather, it appears to have its own SDK, as well as supporting Unity, Unreal, or Android dev kits.

So, to use FlexSim on your VR headset, it will still need to be connected to a Windows computer. That means Oculus Rift, Vive, or Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

Thank you for your answer. That was what I thought after reading how the Oculus Go works.

However, could the Oculus Go work if it connects to a web server running FlexSim on a Windows computer?

I guess the Go can be used to visit any webpage so it should be possible from this point of view. I am not sure if the FlexSim webserver can power a remote VR device however as it would require a lot of bandwidth.

Visiting a flat webpage displaying a flat image of the model in the headset is probably possible, but that isn't going to make FlexSim's 3D view render in VR Mode fullscreen or make it so that when you move your head around, it moves the 3D view accordingly. And even if that were possible, the latency of processing that on the server side with inputs from the client would make the user nauseous. For VR to work, you need to minimize the latency between what the user does and what the user sees.
